This blackberry pear crisp is absolutely delectable. My farm box arrived last week with loads of sweet potatoes and pears. The lazy part of me was annoyed as I had to use them all up (can't bear to waste anything,) and the creative part of me was thrilled because I had to figure out a way to make use of them that will knock-the-socks off my somewhat spoiled (food-wise,) family.

Instructions. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the butter and cut it into the dry ingredients with a pastry blender or a couple forks until the mixture is crumbly and the butter is evenly cut in. Set aside.

Melt butter in microwave or in small pan on stovetop. Chop nuts. Add salt to other ingredients for crumb topping. Mix brown sugar, oats and cinnamon with salt in medium bowl. Once butter is melted add to crisp topping. Mix until all of the butter is incorporated. Spread thin layer on bottom of 4 quart casserole dish.
