A year after the release of the Peugeot 205 GTi, Renault unveiled a GTi destined to rival Sochaux's car, the Supercinq GT Turbo. It took up some mechanical parts of the 11 Turbo, with a 115 horsepower turbo engine. The low weight (830 kg) allowed remarkable performance.
