In Hawaiian 'haole' means a person who is non-Hawaiian, especially a white person. Our favorite restaurant for plate lunch serves haole brownies. I thought that was funny they called them haole instead of blondie. So, I decided to make my own paleo version. They are decadently delicious and won.

Haole Brownies-Mimo. Preheat oven to 350. Mix oil, brown sugar, egg, vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased pan. Bake 25 min. May add butterscotch chips or brickle chips at same time as nuts.

Preheat oven to 375º. Grease a 9 x 13" pan - I greased it, put parchment paper down, then greased it again. In a stand mixer or by hand add brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter. Mix until incorporated and fluffy. Add salt, flour and baking powder. Mix just until incorporated.

Instructions. Preheat oven to 375F. In the bowl of a stand mixer combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, salt. With the paddle attachment mix until well combined, light and fluffy. Then to the bowl add flour and baking powder. Stir until just incorporated.
