cut hot dogs in 1/2 lengthwise then into 1/4" pieces. In 4qt pan brown hot dogs and onions in oil. add tomatoes, soup or tomato paste ,water, and pasta sauce. add pepper and garlic powder. Let simmer while macaroni is cooking. Cook macar4oni in separate pan, drain and add to sauce. Works well with ground beef ,fresh browned of course, leftover.

It's another year and another German recipe creation that I've been meaning to tackle for month now. My kids love when we go home to visit and a relative or friends dishes up Hot Dog Goulash, in Germany they actually call it "Wuerstchen Goulash". It's simple, it can feed a crowd and kids and adults alike love the flavor combination.

Instructions. Cut 6 to 10 cross-hatch patterns in your hot dogs. Put a small amount of oil or fat into your pan. When your frying pan is hot enough, place the hot dogs into it. Turn them a few times, and let them cook over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. Pan frying is a popular way to prepare your hot dogs.

Add sliced hot dogs (and peppers if using) and continue to cook for another five to 10 minutes until they begin to brown. Add potatoes and water (and baked beans if using) and mix all ingredients.

In a large saucepan or dutch oven heat oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions until lightly golden. Add paprika and stir for 10 seconds. Deglaze the pan with vinegar or wine, if using. Stir for 30 seconds. Pour in 2 ½ - 3 cups water. Add the raw cubed potatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder, tomato paste, sugar, and ketchup.
