Ingredients. 3/4 cup sugar. 1/3 cup vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar; plain white vinegar may be used) 1 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon dry mustard. 1 teaspoon celery seed. 1/4 cup chopped onion. 1 cup salad oil (olive, avocado, grapeseed, and canola oil, all work well)

Place in a large mixing bowl. Toss with celery seeds. 1 small head cabbage, ½ onion, ½ green pepper, 1 cup carrots, 1 teaspoon celery seeds. Drizzle most of the dressing over the salad and stir to coat. Refrigerate reserved dressing. Cover and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least a few hours or overnight.

Thinly shred both the green and red cabbage into a large salad bowl.
