The brick promenade has been a National Recreation Trail since 1982. The Grand Promenade, as well as Bathhouse Row, has been a National Historic Landmark District since 1987. The brickwork along the path is quite lovely. The design was inspired by the Prado, a pedestrian walkway in Havana, Cuba.
