Yamaha FG-300 Acoustic Guitar Red Label MIJ 1970's. This guitar looks a little rough but man does it sound great. There has been major repair work done and now this guitar is solid and stable. The top has been patched near the pickguard. Pickguard is a replacement. The top in is coming up a little bit behind the bridge but the bridge in not.

Details FG 300, 1968-1976, Red Label Nippon Gakki. Shares the Jacaranda back and sides with the FG 500. Guitar with heavy play wear, and sadly, a little hole in the side where once a jack output was mounted. As with all FG 300's the Original pickguard is coming a little loose from the body. I'll keep it this way.

Dating a Yamaha FG300? Hi, I've just acquired a Yamaha FG300 & I'd really appreciate some help working out how old it might be. The chap who sold it to me thought it was 1969ish, but he wasn't the original owner & my suspicion is that it's probably younger than that. I've attached some pictures of features that have got me wondering.
